I saw a Facebook posting that makes me cringed. One lady was trying to spread hatred as she claimed that so that the Opposition can win. I really do not like elections, they bring about such hate-mongerers. The racial riots in Singapore seemed a distant past, but in fact, it has just been about 50 years. Recovery takes far far longer. Every election I am quite worried, worried that there are opportunists trying to get into power playing on racial and hate issues.

Is our electorate mature enough to kick out such opportunists? Hard to say, in every society there are bound to be malcontents who will vote for every Ah Beng and Ah Seng. Can only hope that everyone of us remember that the vote in our hands is sacred, vote for those whom you sincerely feel can work towards the long time prosperity of our country. Not for those who are just exploiting current issues and nothing else. There is a lot of hatred against foreign talents, I fear this may affect the talents from coming to Singapore, we need to attract foreign talents. We are in a global market competing against others for foreign talents. It is not that we are the only country of choice! Just that our government has been trying their best to position Singapore well. But looking at the Internet hatred articles against the foreign talents makes me real worry that our efforts may be in vain.

All in all, I just hope that the elections may end quickly and may the best man or woman wins. God Bless my Beautiful Singapore.
