This century will be the Century of China and India. The new Superpowers of the World. With their giant population, rapid economic growth and new founded riches, they will be standing tall in the league of nations.

Singapore has the unique advantage of being multiracial, with a majority of Chinese and a sizable Indian population. We are in a good position to leverage upon this to act as a bridge between the two giants. Singapore is traditionally in close relations with these two countries and we should further strengthen and enhance such ties with them. They should be our new wings of growth.

India

Already we have seen such rich Chinese and Indian businessmen using Singapore as a base for them. We should further promote ourselves as the glue for further cooperation of these two new Super Powers. They are complementary in a lot of ways. China is the factory of the world and India is the brain of the world. Their cultures and mentality are very different. For us, in Singapore, we have been in constant touch with both of these nations and am in the position to facilitate further cooperation between them. Lets be the meeting point for the civilizations that had risen from the Indus Valley and the Yellow River.

China

We are not just talking Economics here. Doing so will further strengthen the culture mindsets of our Chinese and Indian population. It will allow them to know their roots better. Of course, there is always one thing we must remember. Whether we are Chinese, Indian, Malay or any races, we are Singaporeans. This has to be the foremost in our minds whatever the situation and no matter how rich and power India and China may be in the future.
